New Line Records Will Release Yours to Keep, Debut Solo Record from The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr.

NEW YORK (January 12, 2006) - Albert Hammond, Jr.’s debut solo album Yours To Keep will be released domestically March 6 on New Line Records. Yours To Keep features a core trio of Albert (guitar/vocals), Matt Romano (drums) and Josh Lattanzi (bass) along with guest appearances by Jody Porter (Fountains Of Wayne), Sean Lennon, Julian Casablancas and Ben Kweller, among many others.

The album has already received rave reviews in the UK.:

"An intimate, frequently beautiful and consistently surprising record that gets better with every listen." 8 out of 10 stars.- NME

"It's no surprise that the coolest Stroke - who resembles a young Jimi Hendrix - makes a captivating and charismatic frontman." – Guardian (UK)

"Excellent. An interesting mix of high harmony and low key music." - BBC.com

The US release will include two bonus tracks not previously available as well as a video for the song “101”.

Having recently completed an extensive European headline tour, Albert is currently touring with Incubus (see dates below) through mid-February, and will be touring with Bloc Party March 23-30.  He will also be headlining in Los Angeles at the Troubadour on Feb. 14 and in Japan on Feb. 20 and 21. His band is augmented by guitarist Steve Schiltz and Marc Eskenazi (guitar/keys). A US headline tour will follow in the spring.

Additionally, MySpace has selected Albert to be the Featured Artist of the Week beginning March 5.
