    New Line Cinema Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne to Receive Humanitarian Award from Simon Wiesenthal Center

    LOS ANGELES (April 12, 2007) – New Line Cinema’s Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne will be presented with the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s highest honor, the 2007 Humanitarian Award, at its National Tribute Dinner on June 20th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

    The Humanitarian Award is presented to individuals whose commitment to cultural diversity, social responsibility and philanthropy exemplifies the essence of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Previous Wiesenthal award recipients have included Rupert Murdoch, Al Gore, Bono, Tom Freston, Michael Douglas, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Billy and Janice Crystal, Brian L. Roberts, Sherry Lansing, and Arnold Schwarzenegger among others.

    Funds raised at the Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne Tribute Dinner will benefit programs and activities of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its Museum of Tolerance.

    “The Wiesenthal Center’s mission of promoting tolerance and human rights continues to be of critical importance,” comment Shaye and Lynne. “We are honored to be recognized by such a vital and outstanding organization.”

    The internationally acclaimed Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles challenges visitors to confront issues of bigotry and racism and has hosted over 4 million guests, including over a million and half students. The Museum has also innovated the largest diversity training center in the United States, working with 75,000 law enforcement professionals and over 40,000 educators. These programs are replicated in a stunning environment at its New York Tolerance Center on 42nd Street in Manhattan. The Center’s Moriah Films Division has produced nine films, two of which have won Academy Awards®.
